‘family day’
The Melbourne Cup Carnival concludes its festivities with Emirates Stakes Day. The 'family day' of the Carnival features Victoria's premier 1600m event, the $1 million Group One Emirates Stakes, and the scorching $1,002,500 weight-for-age Patinack Farm Classic.
Emirates Stakes Day is the fastest growing day of the four-day Carnival with more than 74,000 racegoers attending in 2012. The meeting, which features Emirates Stakes Day Fashions on the Field, has a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere.
The final day of the Carnival is all about relaxed style, and the opportunity for the young ones to shine. For some, it is the day to deck out the little ones in the latest junior fashions, while for others it is simply a day to have fun with friends and family.
The official flower for Emirates Stakes Day is the Red Rose.
