Emirates Melbourne Cup Tour

Since 2003, the Emirates Melbourne Cup Tour has provided rural, regional and metropolitan communities across Australia and New Zealand a chance to experience the magic of the iconic trophy.
Each year, the Tour celebrates the heroes and stories intrinsically linked to the Victoria Racing Club’s 153-year old Melbourne Cup and its contribution to the nation's social, sporting and racing culture.
The 2012 EMCT’s three-month adventure started in July, visiting 26 destinations in an effort to unite communities by engaging councils, schools, hospitals, aged-care and racing groups in events to raise funds for local causes.
Living up to its status as the ‘People’s Cup’, the Tour visited 35 schools and 22 hospitals and aged care facilities, participating in more than 87 community events, including street parades, civic receptions, charity dinners, community barbeques and cocktail parties.
Over the past 10 years, the 18-carat gold Emirates Melbourne Cup has travelled more than 325,000 kilometres, visiting 236 towns and cities and engaging tens of thousands of people.
Applications for the 2013 Emirates Melbourne Cup Tour have closed.
Communication will be made with all tenderers in coming weeks with an announcement of successful tenderers due in the middle of June 2013. Please refer back to our website for further updates.
